You don't need to wait for it to mount - so - Restart, while holding the C key. Put that disk in your drive, and restart. As soon as I install parallels tools, I lose all ability to run the bootcamp control panel, set my startup disk, have a backlit keyboard, etc. This can be verified by logging into the alternate OS (Mac OS X) and using Disk Utility to look at the partition structure. However, the partition still exists and the files within the Bootcamp partition are untouched. You should be able to boot to your Leopard DVD.
